God exists, but I do not believe in Him. And perhaps, in the end, who cares? This attitude resembles someone who is angry or disappointed with their parents. The parents are real, but the person may feel that they no longer need them to interfere in their life.
In this sense, God could be compared to parents who were once alive but have since died. God is dead, yet He can still hear us. Hearing, in this conception, means receiving signals without transmitting any signals in return. God may have knowledge of us, but we have no corresponding knowledge of Him. We can speak to Him, but we receive no observable response. Thus, the relationship is fundamentally one-sided: God knows us, while we cannot know God.
