Any definition of God would is circular. If He is defined as the Creator of the universe, then who created Him. Or if He is someone who watches everyone, then who watches Him. This definition is in plain text. This kind of definition given in the form of a statement is subtle.
A more workable definition is given by a set. Let A be a set which is a collection of its members that share a property. For example, a set of fruits share the common property that they are fruit. We also define a pair (A, S) called a space where A makes sense. We can also define a complement space (A, S’) where A does not make sense.
The same goes for God. If there is no room for God in science S, there is another space S’, called metaphysics, where God makes total sense.
In summary, everything makes sense in some space. It is like a needle misplaced in a room and searching it in another room would be in vain.
