Reincarnation

In the preceding post on the fundamental theorem of life & death , we established the equivalence between the elements of LBD and lad (see glossary for acronyms). It gives rise to three types of beliefs which are given by POV1, POV2, and POV3. POV1 is a believer because he knows he sleeps and while sleeping he dreams.POV2 is agnostic. This is because this narrator includes loved ones and friends (LOFs). LOFs believe in DP, stating he dreams while sleeping. But LOFs are not exactly DP to tell if he says the truth. On the other hand, POV3 is a denier as he cannot sense the dreams of DP. Of course, POV3 sleeps and may dream. But this would make them POV1. This is an interesting case per se. It gives rise to the possibility of changing beliefs.

We learned from the fundamental theorem of life and death (FTLD) that the state of sleep is mapped into the state of dream, and the state of dead into the state of alive. This means that one is either sleeping and having a dream or dead and having a life. This means that dream (life) is a ‘within’ property of sleep (death). Thus, we can say that sleep (death) is the body of a dream (life). It would be easier to discuss sleep and death separately in what follows.

Since sleep and dream are the components of LBD, they collapse when DP wakes up. The following transitions may take place. LBD can go into itself (LBD à LBD). According to this transformation, DP wakes up as DP. The cycle of sleep and waking up continues till DP dies and becomes dp. The corresponding transformation is LBD à lad. The third possibility is lad à LBD. According to this transformation, dp resurrects and becomes DP. The fourth transformation is lad à lad. In this case, dp never returns to LBD to become DP. One might ask, where was DP before birth? The answer is simple. We have the above transformations. DP may have come from lad.

The transformation described above allows resurrection, but DP may return as a different person. When LBD à LBD, then X à X, where X is the name of DP. When LBD à lad, then X à x, where x is the name of dp. Finally, when lad à LBD, then x à Y. It means that x may emerge as a different person or generally any entity.

As every transformation preserves something. Take for example a hand of a clock. As it rotates, the length of the hand does not change. We say that length is invariant under rotation. The question is what is invariant in various transformations described above. First, we note the transformations indeed happen. Thus, there is something that is invariant. Since we are dealing with different kinds of transformation, different things remain unchanged. In case of X à X, awareness is invariant. This is identity transformation and X is aware of himself. But in case of x à X, DP does not know what he was in the previous life. Thus, ignorance is invariant in this case. The same is the case with X à x, where ignorance remains constant. Since awareness and ignorance are opposite of each other. Let us place them in a set and call that set ‘consciousness’. To summarise, consciousness is a set of awareness and ignorance. Hence, consciousness is invariant under various transformations described above.

We earlier observed that dream occurs while sleeping. This means the state of dream is a within property of the state of sleep. Similarly, the state alive is a within attribute of the state dead. This means that life lives in its enemy. We can call the state dead the body in which life lives. We will use body and death interchangeably. Life is always endangered by the body.

Death uses different tactics to end life. For instance, aging, illnesses, accidents, etc. are various ways the body uses to destroy itself. Because the body knows if it damages itself, it will end the life. Life reacts back to repair the body. Life attempts to extend its span by taking good care of the body and staying healthy. But death is cruel it suffocates life till it frees itself from it.
